When Rolls-Royce announced three years ago that it would launch Cullinan, it did so in the knowledge that its customers around the world had asked it to build “The Rolls-Royce of SUVs”, with luxury, performance and usability not seen before in the SUV market.

The most anticipated Rolls-Royce of all time, the Cullinan is named after the largest diamond ever discovered which now resides in the British Crown Jewels. An all-terrain high-bodied car that makes the idea of authentic, luxury off-road travel a reality. Contemporary and functional design ensures Cullinan gains iconic status in the face of increasingly bland SUV designs.

The first "three-box" car in the SUV-sector, the Cullinan's rear partition wall creates a distinct environment for passengers, separated from the luggage compartment. It is the second new Rolls-Royce to sit on the all-new aluminium 'Architecture of Luxury', Cullinan is a technologically advanced, and purpose-built, luxury SUV.

Cullinan offers a suite of Bespoke features developed specifically for the many various lifestyles of its owners including the Viewing Suite and the Recreation Module. The 6.75 litre twin-turbo V12 Rolls-Royce engine delivers 563bhp/420kW and 850Nm/627lb ft of torque to the all-new all-wheel drive, all-wheel steer system needed to overcome any challenge.

Honda to launch its Civic saloon in UK

Honda UK has announced the four door saloon version of the Civic is coming to the UK market. Built in Turkey, the Civic saloon will be available in both petrol and diesel powertrains from August.

The petrol version will be the 1.0 i-VTEC available on the Civic hatchback since launch and comes with either the CVT or manual transmission. The 1.6 i-DTEC diesel powertrain was launched earlier this year in the hatchback and will be available with the same manual transmission or a new nine-speed automatic.

Similar to the hatchback, the new wider, longer platform results in higher interior space. The interior features a simple, uncluttered layout. The seating position is again lower to give the driver a greater feeling of connection with the car, and the new saloon combines passenger and luggage space with practical usability.

Building on the 40-year heritage of the Civic name, and similar to the hatchback, the four door saloon has been engineered from the ground up and represents a significant step forward for Honda in the C-segment, benefiting from the largest single model global development programme in the company's history.

Scheduled to be unveiled in 2021, the Lagonda SUV will be the first luxury SUV exclusively driven by zero emission powertrain technologies and will uphold all the qualities of the reinvented super-luxury marque. Not only will it feature an evolution of the incredibly bold design language first seen with the show-stopping 'Vision Concept', the SUV will be built around near-future technologies, such as its advanced Battery Electric drivetrain, making the Lagonda SUV the first of its kind: an ultra-stylish, supremely luxurious, fully electric emission-free vehicle.

Aston Martin has announced in the form of a customer commissioned limited run, the all-new Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600s, inspired and influenced by the original V8 Vantage V600. It is inspired by the extreme iteration of its 1998 Vantage sportscar, the supercharged V8 Vantage V600.

Fast forward 20 years and the luxury British carmaker's unique personalisation service Q by Aston Martin received a customer commission for a strictly limited run of 14 new Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600s. Split between seven coupes and seven roadsters and dubbed the 'Triple V', this unique series of manual V12 V600s have been commissioned, designed and handcrafted without compromise.

Our customers can create truly bespoke sports cars by personally collaborating with myself and Aston Martin's design team. The V600 name remains a classic in Aston Martin's heritage and I'm proud to see it adorn the V12 Vantage V600 once again".

It is powered by an upgraded version of Aston Martin's 6.0-litre V12 engine, producing 600PS power. A 7-speed manual transmission provides an engaged driving experience, while the front and rear dual independent wishbone suspension – featuring 3-stage adaptive damping – produces a sublime ride in all conditions.

The V12 Vantage V600 utilises aggressive styling cues across its full-carbon fibre exterior. Like the 90s classic, the V600 utilises a re-imagined side-strake and a bulging bonnet that hints towards the power that lies underneath. A unique darkened grille provides maximum air and cooling to the model's characterful V12, while the car's rear continues to signal towards the car's powerful nature.

An all-new carbon fibre diffuser provides the backdrop for an attention grabbing quad exhaust system. The external look of the V600 is further distinguished by bespoke centre-lock forged and machined aluminium wheels.

The interior of the Vantage V600 is made of carbon fibre and dark anodised aluminium. The lightweight seats have an all-new perforation pattern, carbon fibre centre console and bespoke driver information dials. The 2018 Aston Martin V12 Vantage V600 is available on request with deliveries taking place in Q3 2018.

Mini has launched the new generation of its compact SUV Countryman in India at a rather competitive price starting ₹349 thousand ($51,800). It will be assembled in BMW’s Chennai plant located in South India.

Mini used to sell cars in India which were imported as CBUs and hence were very highly taxed. This led to prices of these vehicles to be higher than their competition. Since the vehicle is being assembled locally, Mini has managed to cut down on the import taxes and hence priced the vehicle on par if not less than the competition.

The British brand has launched the Countryman in two petrol variants (S and JCW) and one diesel variant (SD). The price of the petrol variant starts at ₹349 thousand ($51,800) and goes all the way up to ₹414 thousand ($61,000) and the diesel variant costs ₹374 thousand ($55,500).

The Countryman shares its platform with BMW's X1 which is assembled at the same plant in Chennai. The new generation has a more spacious interior and a longer wheelbase. BMW has kept the level of localisation for manufacturing at 50%.

Mini intends to multiply the volume of its sales in India where it holds negligible market share. The company also intends to launch the face-lifted versions of its other models in India in the coming months.

BMW to debut it’s new entry-level diesel engine on the BMW 6 series GT

A new four-cylinder diesel engine will be available for the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo starting July 2018. The 2 litre has a power output of 190hp consuming 4.9 – 4.8 l/100 km of diesel. Its combined CO2 emission is 129 – 127 g/km. Maximum torque of 400 Nm is available between 1750 and 2500 rpm.

The introduction of this engine takes the number of power units available for the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo to 5 engines. In addition to straight six-cylinder diesel engines, a straight six-cylinder petrol engine and a four-cylinder petrol engine will be offered.

The new entry-level diesel transfers power with a standard 8-speed Steptronic transmission. All suspension systems available for the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo are also optionally available for the new model variants, including Adaptive Two-Axle Air Suspension, Integral Active Steering and the Executive Drive system with Active Roll Stabilisation.

The new BMW 620d Gran Turismo sprints from 0 to 100 km/100 in 7.9 seconds. The efficiency of the new engine variant is demonstrated by a combined fuel consumption of 4.9 to 4.8 litres per 100 km and a CO2 emission level of 129 to 127 grams/km.
